Cupido, Kervin

Kervin's love of visual art and observation of people at work and play developed through his school years. He quickly learnt to use his talent to express himself in truly mixed media, often including sculpture.

One of his greatest fortunes is to have Selwyn Pekeur (his old school teacher) as his mentor in life and art. He is a founder member of the E'bezweni Art group together with Solomon Siko, Selwin Pekeur and Dylan Denyssen.

Kervin is a multi-media artist who as painter, sculptor, loves experimenting with different media and techniques.

From 1996 until 1999 Kervin travelled to Germany annually to attend painting and sculpture workshops – this greatly influenced his style and use of material and colour. His works were later part of the group exhibition held later in Hamburg.

He has been the only artist from Africa outside Egypt to be invited to the month long International Luxor Painting symposium in 2008.

He has been one of a few selected artists invited to exhibit during the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup in Cape Town. His work has also been used for Cape Town Jazz Festival posters, bill boards and posters and can be seen in many galleries in South Africa.

To date, Kervin's work has been widely exhibited nationally and internationally. His work has been collected in the U.S.A., U.K., Denmark, Holland, Germany, Australia with commissioned work hanging in the Parliament Buildings of South Africa.
